Basketball Recap: BASIS Flagstaff's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

BASIS Flagstaff entered their game against Dishchii'bikoh on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The BASIS Flagstaff Yetis fell to the Dishchii'bikoh Wildcats 70-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in December of 2024 (61), the Yetis still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, BASIS Flagstaff saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lincoln Bradford almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 15 rebounds, and nine blocks. The match was Bradford's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Iori Cruz was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Even though they lost, BASIS Flagstaff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

BASIS Flagstaff's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Dishchii'bikoh, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

BASIS Flagstaff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-29 defeat against Northland Prep Academy on the 13th. As for Dishchii'bikoh, they will venture away from home to challenge El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dishchii'bikoh knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully El Capitan likes a good challenge.
