Football Recap: Andrews Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Andrews's offense. They were dealt a 59-0 loss at the hands of the Murphy Bulldogs on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

It was another big night for Cameron Clem, who rushed for 80 yards and one TD for Murphy. Clem was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Brady Grant was another key player, throwing for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Murphy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews will host Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Murphy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hayesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Clem and Tre Graves.
