Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Maypearl's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

It was a proper cat-fight when Maypearl faced off against Blooming Grove on Tuesday. The Maypearl Panthers put the hurt on the Blooming Grove Lions with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maypearl is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs. Blooming Grove moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maypearl will face off against Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rice has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.22 runs per game on average), something Maypearl will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Blooming Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blooming Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Palmer's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
