Baseball Recap: Deltona's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flagler Palm Coast, Deltona was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Seabreeze Sandcrabs get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Wolves not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 12th.

Deltona got a great performance from Mason Draper as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Draper has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Kenny Dozier was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Albizu, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Deltona's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Seabreeze, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Deltona and Seabreeze could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Deltona will take on New Smyrna Beach at 1:00 p.m. on Friday down 344 places (452 vs. 108). Deltona is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Seabreeze (ranked 131st) will meet Spruce Creek (ranked 11th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
