Basketball Recap: West Gate Christian Academy Takes a Loss

The West Gate Christian Academy Patriots came up short against the New Jerusalem Christian Academy Eagles on Monday and fell 57-44.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Marcellus led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Marcellus' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Stone, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points.

West Gate Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

West Gate Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Palm Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 15. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, they and Families Instructing Students HomeSchool will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
