Basketball Recap: Service Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Dimond

On Friday, Service faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Service Cougars fell to the Dimond Lynx 62-58. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lynx earlier this season, when they won 54-48.

Service has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Dimond, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Service will venture away from home to challenge West Anchorage at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Service is facing West Anchorage at the right time seeing as West Anchorage is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Dimond, they are taking a road trip to face off against Eagle River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dimond knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Eagle River likes a good challenge.
