Football Recap: North Schuylkill Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tamaqua last Friday, North Schuylkill came back down to earth. The Spartans were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Matt Bodnar was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 233 yards and a pair of touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (94 yards to be exact) went to CJ Diaz.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Schuylkill fell to 2-1. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, North Schuylkill will host Southern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, they will venture away from home to challenge Saucon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
