Avalon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Rio Vista 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Avalon took Rio Vista into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 22-25, 22-25, 15-13.

Avalon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Rio Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-9.
