Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Francis W. Parker's Winning Streak

It was fun while it lasted, but Francis W. Parker's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Friday. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chicago University Maroons. The Colonels were not able to make up for their loss to the Maroons from their previous meeting back in February.

Francis W. Parker's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Johnson, who posted 20 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Harris, who put up 19 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Francis W. Parker fell to 4-1. As for Chicago University, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Francis W. Parker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-40 win against Timothy Christian on the 7th. As for Chicago University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-39 loss against Chicago Hope Academy on the 9th.
