Softball Game Preview: Lebanon Cedars vs. Reading Red KNights

Lebanon is 0-4 against Reading since May of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Lebanon Cedars will take on the Reading Red KNights at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Cedars fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They put the hurt on Garden Spot with a sharp 15-2 win on Monday.

Sereniti Zidik was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Zidik was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Makenzie Swisher was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Katrina Leary was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garden Spot only posted an OBP of .333.

Meanwhile, everything went Reading's way against Harrisburg on Wednesday as Reading made off with a 19-2 victory. The Red KNights haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lebanon might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Reading in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Lebanon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
