Softball Game Preview: Dallas Christian Chargers vs. Wylie Prep Academy Patriots

The Dallas Christian Chargers will face off against the Wylie Prep Academy Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dallas Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.

On Tuesday, Dallas Christian got the win against Prince of Peace by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Chargers have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Dallas Christian let Zailey Freeman and Raegan Haar run wild. Freeman scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Haar went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammi Boothe, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Wylie Prep Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 16-1 to First Baptist.

Dallas Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Wylie Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
