The Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans will face off against the Louisburg Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern School of Energy and Sustainability has five straight victories, Louisburg has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability barely beat J.F. Webb the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Warriors on Saturday.

Ryan Dawes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Southern School of Energy and Sustainability is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Dawes was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Ethan Hargrove was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo Miramontes Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Louisburg came up short against South Granville on Friday and fell 6-2.
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Louisburg, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
