Softball Recap: Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Riverside Prep Silver Knights, falling 9-0. Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy was not able to make up for their loss to Riverside Prep from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Mia Higareda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Riverside Prep, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

While Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
