Basketball Recap: Monterey Wildcats vs. Wartburg Central Bulldogs
Monterey kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to the Wartburg Central Bulldogs 56-51. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.
Monterey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grayson Phillips, who earned 12 points in addition to three steals. Another player making a difference was Tanner Brown, who earned five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Monterey will head out to challenge Trousdale County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wartburg Central, they will host Cumberland Gap at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
