Baseball Recap: Long Branch Takes a Loss

Long Branch fell victim to Wall Township and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 24-0 to the Crimson Knights. The Green Wave have struggled against the Crimson Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Long Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Wall Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will head out to challenge Keansburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wall Township, they will square off against St. John-Vianney at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
