Softball Game Preview: Alief Elsik Rams vs. George Ranch Longhorns

Alief Elsik is 0-5 against George Ranch since March of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Alief Elsik Rams will welcome the George Ranch Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Alief Elsik fell victim to Foster and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 17-0. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Meanwhile, George Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-4 to Fulshear.

Kaylie Wacker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Macie Burks was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Alief Elsik's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for George Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12-3.

Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alief Elsik hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .484. However, it's not like George Ranch struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
