Basketball Recap: Union Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anderson Prep Academy, Union was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks by a score of 52-43. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamar Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Schwartz a new career-high in assists (eight). Zyler Ogden was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Union's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Seven Oaks Classical, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will host Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seven Oaks Classical, they will be playing at home against Phalen Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Phalen Leadership Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Seven Oaks Classical likes a good challenge.
