The Jackson County Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Wolfe County Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jackson County has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Wolfe County will arrive with six straight wins.
On Monday, Jackson County didn't have quite enough to beat Madison Southern and fell 5-3.
Meanwhile, Wolfe County got the win against Letcher County Central on Monday by a conclusive 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Camden Oliver and Chance Fallen were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Oliver tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fallen tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Oliver posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At bat, Oliver got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Fallen went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Fallen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Wolfe County got a big performance out of Max Whisman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Whisman has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayden Molands, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Wolfe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Letcher County Central only posted an OBP of .310.
Jackson County's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Wolfe County, their record is now 13-4.
