River Valley has gone 9-1 against Lancaster recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Blackhawks will be playing at home against the Flying Arrows at 5:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: River Valley has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Lancaster will arrive with three straight victories.

On Monday, River Valley came up short against Fennimore and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Lancaster was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Highland 3-2. That's two games straight that the Flying Arrows have won by just one run.

Toay Ragatz and John Clements made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ragatz pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meanwhile, Clements pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lancaster is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. At the plate, Ragatz went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Clements went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lancaster, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

River Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Lancaster in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Blackhawks repeat their success, or do the Flying Arrows have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
