Softball Game Preview: Myers Park Mustangs vs. Palisades Pumas

Myers Park has gone a perfect 7-0 against Palisades recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Myers Park will venture away from home to take on Palisades at 5:30 p.m. Myers Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Myers Park's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Ballantyne Ridge with a sharp 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Anna Eason, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Ballantyne Ridge off the board. Those 13 strikeouts gave Eason a new career-high.

At the plate, Myers Park let Regan Godman and Ryann Rempson run wild. Godman went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Rempson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Sally McDonald also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Palisades was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Porter Ridge, falling 12-2.

Mariah Rushin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Myers Park has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. Palisades has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Myers Park beat Palisades 9-4 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for Myers Park since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
