Volleyball Recap: Mellise Bush and Abby Youmans Secure Win for Southeast

Southeast proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Inspiration Academy Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Seminoles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Southeast took Inspiration Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 25-27, 15-13.

Southeast was led to victory by Abby Youmans and Mellise Bush. Youmans had 13 digs and two aces, while Bush had 15 digs. Those 13 digs gave Youmans a new career-high.

Southeast's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Inspiration Academy, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Southeast has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Sarasota Military Academy on the 29th. As for Inspiration Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against The Classical Academy of Sarasota on the 29th.
