Baseball Game Preview: Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks vs. Kennedy Eagles

Robbinsdale Cooper hasn't had much luck against Kennedy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Robbinsdale Cooper turned things around against Brooklyn Center on Friday. They came out on top against the Centaurs by a score of 5-2.

Arlo Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Owen Vetter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Cole Peltier also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Kennedy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Teddies.

Robbinsdale Cooper's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Robbinsdale Cooper came up short against Kennedy when the teams last played back in April, falling 5-2. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
