Wheatland-Grinnell skates past Weskan with ease

The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 65-26 win over Weskan. That 39 points margin sets a new team best for Wheatland-Grinnell this season.

Wheatland-Grinnell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Bixenman out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bixenman pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Beckman, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

The win (which was Wheatland-Grinnell's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Weskan, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Wheatland-Grinnell will take on Western Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Plains is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Weskan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northern Valley at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Northern Valley is ranked 312th, while Weskan is ranked 336th).
