Basketball Recap: Fairview's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Saturday, Fairview faced Barbe in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Fairview Panthers took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barbe Buccaneers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Fairview's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-4. As for Barbe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Fairview Panthers challenge the Livonia Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. One thing working in Fairview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Barbe, they will face off against Rosepine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
