Preview: Homer Pelicans vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles
The Homer Pelicans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Homer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Evangel Christian Academy is ranked 43rd).
Last Friday, Homer lost to Ringgold on the road by a decisive 69-52 margin. Homer has not had much luck with Ringgold recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over Washington.
Homer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7.
Homer came up short against Evangel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 66-54. Can Homer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
