Albuquerque Academy had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the ten-goal drubbing they dealt Valley on Thursday. The Chargers' defense stepped up to hand the Vikings a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Albuquerque Academy, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Valley from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Ingrid Gilchrist led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Albuquerque Academy pushed their record up to 13-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-1.

Coincidentally, Albuquerque Academy and Valley will both be playing Hope Christian the next time they take the pitch. The Chargers will head out to face the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Vikings will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
