Baseball Recap: Garden City Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Garden City's offense. They came up short against the Holcomb Longhorns on Friday, falling 7-0. The Buffaloes just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Drew Strecker was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Garden City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Holcomb, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Garden City beat Holcomb by a score of 4-3 later that day.
