Baseball Recap: Highland's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Highland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yuma Outlaws, sneaking past 7-5. The win was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on five straight.

Stetson Hendren was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sawyer Morgan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Highland's record now sits at 16-5-1. As for Yuma, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Highland will host Liberty Common at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.21 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Yuma, they will be playing at home against Burlington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Outlaws surely won't give up without a fight.
