Baseball Recap: San Fernando Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

San Fernando never let their opponents score on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Bravo Knights. The three-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Miguel Mora and Alex Torres were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Mora pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Torres pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits Mora has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat, Mora scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Torres went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Torres snagged this season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emiliano Salazar, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

San Fernando's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bravo, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, San Fernando will square off against Sylmar at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sylmar 1.8, San Fernando 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bravo, they will head out to challenge Sotomayor at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
