Karsyn Sigmon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Livi Queen, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sophia Rhoney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.
Foard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .933. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, East Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat North Lincoln on Friday and fell 5-3.
Like Foard, East Lincoln also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaitlyn Gust. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gust was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Taniyah Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Vaughn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
East Lincoln's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Foard, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
East Lincoln's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Foard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .540. It's a different story for East Lincoln, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Foard's hitters?
