Baseball Recap: Mountain View Drops Highest Score of Season Against Dobson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain View). Everything went their way against the Dobson Mustangs on Monday as Mountain View made off with a 20-5 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Toros sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Tadon Mcknight looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Person, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Germaine, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dobson only posted an OBP of .407.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dobson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Mountain View will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dobson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
