Soccer Game Preview: Central Wise vs. Glenvar

The Central Wise Warriors will head out to take on the Glenvar Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Wise's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Glenvar's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Central Wise heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Graham. The loss continues a trend for Central Wise in their meetings with Graham: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Glenvar entered their tilt with Chatham on Thursday with 15 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 16. They never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Glenvar might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by five goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Chatham from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Camryn Stevens led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for five goals all by herself.

Glenvar's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven contests. As for Central Wise, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 17-1-1.

Central Wise might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Glenvar when the teams last played back in June of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
