North DeSoto is on  a  three-game streak of home wins, while Loyola College Prep is on  a  four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Griffins will welcome the Flyers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, North DeSoto blew past Woodlawn-Shreveport, posting  a  62-12 win. Given the Griffins' advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Knights are ranked 204th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
North DeSoto's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kenny Thomas, who rushed for 91 yards and three  touchdowns on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of  Colton Lacour, who picked up 109 receiving yards and three  TDs.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: North DeSoto was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 249  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 214  rushing yards in nine consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Loyola College Prep was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Booker T. Washington-Shreveport 54-26. The  contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Flyers had established  a  20-point advantage.
 Loyola College Prep's win came from a few key players North DeSoto will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Ty Walsworth, who picked up 88 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more  receiving touchdowns the last three times he's  played. Another receiver making a difference was  Charlie McKenzie, who picked up 137 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
 Loyola College Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for North DeSoto, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-0.
 Everything came up roses for North DeSoto against Loyola College Prep when the teams last played  back in November of 2024, as the  team secured  a  49-13 win. In that  matchup, the Griffins amassed a halftime lead of  28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
