Baseball Recap: Dequincy Starts off Right with Win over Leesville

DeQuincy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Leesville Wampus Cats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Nolan Schrader and Diron Valentine made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Schrader tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Valentine tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Schrader scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Valentine scored three runs and stole one base while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Turner Rodriquez, who scored a run and stole one base while going 2-for-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
