Basketball Recap: Benjamin Find Success

Benjamin's game on Wednesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Jupiter Christian Eagles 41-38. This was payback for the Buccaneers, who suffered a 48-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Benjamin can attribute much of their success to CJ Smith, who posted eight points in addition to 15 rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Kinzie Bunting, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

When it comes to explaining why Jupiter Christian lost, don't look at Tenley Dillon. Despite the final result, she put up 17 points and four steals. Addison Simmons was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The victory got Benjamin back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Benjamin is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Pine Crest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jupiter Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-21 win against FAU High on the 20th.
