Baseball Recap: Vanden Vikings vs. Wood Wildcats

Vanden scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wood Wildcats as the Vanden Vikings made off with a 15-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Vanden.

Rhyan Solomon-King looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks).

At the plate, Vanden got a massive performance out of Jack Tranchina, who went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Austin Hammerschmidt, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

On Wood's side, Daniel Fiscal and Elijah Olsen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Fiscal scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Olsen scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Tristan Drummond was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The victory got Vanden back to even at 5-5. As for Wood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
