Basketball Recap: La Puente Skates Past Pomona with Ease

There's no place like home for La Puente, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-18 victory over the Pomona Red Devils. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Puente to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ivan Lopez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vicente Rovira, who posted 16 points along with five assists and three steals.

La Puente was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pomona only posted one assist.

Pomona's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rjay Hill, who earned two points, and Darren Arrington, who had eight points. Victor Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

La Puente's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Pomona, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

La Puente didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-63 loss against Workman on the 9th. Pomona has also already played their next game, a 68-24 defeat against Edgewood on the 9th.
