Basketball Game Preview: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Poplar Springs Atomics

The Wewahitchka Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Poplar Springs Atomics at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Wewahitchka came up short against Covenant Christian and fell 40-28. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Wewahitchka saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Niah Carter posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabella Whitfeild, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Poplar Springs was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They took a blow against Bethlehem, falling 60-15. The Atomics have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Wewahitchka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Poplar Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
