Basketball Recap: Tehachapi Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Tehachapi and Monache squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Tehachapi had to settle for second. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monache Marauders. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now lost three in a row.

Monache got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Baxter out in front who posted 24 points and five assists. Baxter's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. E'Saun Jefferson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 28 points and nine boards.

Tehachapi's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Monache, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Tehachapi does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monache, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-47 win against Coalinga on the 19th.
