Soccer Game Preview: Joshua vs. Everman

The Joshua Owls will take on the Everman Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joshua's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Joshua's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Centennial 1-0. Carson Kilcoin had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Owls.

Joshua was without their leading scorer, Jack Ellis, in Friday's contest. With Ellis sitting this one out, Garin Gotcher got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 51.8).

Meanwhile, Everman had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Yellowjackets. The Bulldogs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven matchups.

Everman pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six games. As for Joshua, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-3.
