Basketball Game Preview: Totino-Grace Eagles vs. Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders

The Totino-Grace Eagles will head out to square off against the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Totino-Grace knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Cretin-Derham Hall likes a good challenge.

Totino-Grace is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Houston, who was ranked tenth in their home state at the time (Totino-Grace was ranked 18th). Totino-Grace came out on top against Houston by a score of 67-57 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Cretin-Derham Hall put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Waconia 93-51. That looming 93-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Cretin-Derham Hall's win came from a few key players Totino-Grace will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joe Mitchell, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points along with seven assists and seven steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Ahneman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Totino-Grace is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
