Volleyball Recap: Mcfarland Finds Playoff Glory Versus Edgerton

It's playoff time, and McFarland had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Edgerton Crimson Tide on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three contests in a row.

McFarland had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20.

Kayla Landerud paced McFarland's offense, picking up 20 kills. Landerud got some help from Alex Faust and her 25 assists. Faust was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got McFarland back to even at 20-20. As for Edgerton, their defeat ended a 17-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 30-9.

Looking ahead, McFarland will square off against Sauk Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Edgerton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
