Basketball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

Fairfield lost against Chaparral back in January of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fairfield Falcons fell 55-44 to the Chaparral Roadrunners. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Fairfield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kenley Fowler almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Fowler is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Baker, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Chaparral, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will take on South Haven on Saturday. As for Chaparral, they will challenge Medicine Lodge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
