Football Recap: Bonita Springs Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Bonita Springs's offense. They were dealt a 62-0 loss at the hands of the Aubrey Rogers Patriots on Friday. The Bullsharks lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 52-34 score last time.

Aubrey Rogers found their leader in sophomore Braden Houser, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Ryan Smith helped Houser out on the ground, rushing for 22 yards and a pair of scores, while also catching one TD.

Bonita Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Aubrey Rogers, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Coming up, Bonita Springs will challenge Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bullsharks are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Aubrey Rogers, they will take on Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florida Christian's defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so Aubrey Rogers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
