Baseball Recap: Addison Trail Comes Up Short

Addison Trail came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the York Dukes by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blazers in their meetings with the Dukes: they've now lost six in a row.

Jordan Ciezobka was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Louie Franczak was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Addison Trail's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for York, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Addison Trail will challenge Glenbard South at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for York, they will be playing at home against Waubonsie Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
