Baseball Recap: Speedway Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Speedway can now relate to. They fell 6-2 to the Owen Valley Patriots on Friday. The Sparkplugs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Speedway saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Devault, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Speedway's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Owen Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Speedway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Owen Valley, they will challenge Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
