Softball Recap: York's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

If York was riding high fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Mason County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. York took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atherton Ravens on Tuesday. The game marked the Dukes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

York saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillianah (Lilly) Burda, who went 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Burda's first of the season.

With the loss, York broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. As for Atherton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-5.

Coming up, York will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Pike County Central at 9:00 a.m. As for Atherton, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Atherton Ravens face off against Taft Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: Taft has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
