Volleyball Recap: Callaway Comes Up Short

Callaway lost against Troup County back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. While the Cavaliers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-15 in the first set.

Callaway actually scored more points across those three sets (58-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Callaway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aidyn Alford-Bailey had 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Alford-Bailey.

Callaway's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Troup County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Callaway and Troup County will both be playing Griffin the next time they take the court. The Tigers will host the Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cavaliers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
