Basketball Recap: Philo Takes a Loss

Philo was the 35-28 winner over New Lexington when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Electrics took a 37-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Electrics' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

New Lexington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Baker, who posted ten points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ward, who put up ten points and four steals.

Philo now has a losing record of 2-3. As for New Lexington, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Philo has already played their next contest (against John Glenn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. New Lexington will take on Tri-Valley in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
