Baseball Game Preview: Lawrenceburg Tigers vs. Franklin County Wildcats

The Lawrenceburg Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Franklin County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrenceburg is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Lawrenceburg came out on top against North Decatur on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Chargers.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin County challenged Lawrenceburg on Monday. The Wildcats took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Franklin County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Stephenson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Lawrenceburg pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Lawrenceburg beat Franklin County 6-1 in their previous meeting on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
